How to Embed YouTube Videos in a Quiz

You can enhance your quizzes by embedding YouTube videos directly into questions or answer options. This makes your quizzes more interactive and engaging.

There are two ways to add videos:

• Search and insert videos directly from YouTube
• Add videos using an embed code

Note: Videos can also be added inside answer choices using the same steps.

Example:

An instructor embeds a YouTube video within a quiz question and asks learners to answer based on the content of the video. This ensures learners actively watch and understand the material before responding, making the assessment more interactive and effective.

Method 1: Add Videos by Searching YouTube

Follow these steps to insert a video using the built-in search option:

Step 1: Select a Question Type

Create or edit a question and click on the media (image/video) icon in the question editor.

Step 2: Search for a Video

In the media popup:

• Click on the Videos tab
• Ensure YouTube is selected
• Enter your keyword in the search bar
• Press the search icon

Step 3: Select and Insert the Video

Browse the results and click on the desired video. Click Done to add the selected video to your question.

Step 4: Save and Preview

Enter your question and answer options, then click Save.

Preview the quiz to ensure the video displays correctly.

Method 2: Add YouTube Videos Using Embed Code

Use this method if you want to embed a specific video manually.

Step 1: Open the IFrame Option

Select a question Type. In the Question Editor, click the IFrame (Embed) option to add external content.

Step 2: Copy the Video URL from the Embed Code

Go to the desired video on YouTube, click Share > Embed. 

Copy only the video URL (src link) from the embed code.

Step 3: Paste the URL

Paste the copied video URL into the URL/embed field in the editor and click OK.

Step 4: Save and Preview

Click Save, then preview your quiz to verify the video playback.
